Emphasis on Coordination and Speed

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki met with officials from İZSU and Gediz Electricity at the Smart City and Innovation Center to evaluate infrastructure works through Bornova’s digital twin. During the meeting, emphasis was placed on ensuring that ongoing and planned infrastructure and asphalting processes are carried out without causing inconvenience to citizens or disrupting traffic. Eşki stated that they aim to produce fast and lasting solutions through data-driven planning.

Mayor Ömer Eşki hosted an important meeting at the Smart City and Innovation Center, which serves as Bornova’s digital twin. The meeting was attended by İZSU General Manager Gürkan Erdoğan and officials responsible for construction and inspection from Gediz Electricity.

Infrastructure analysis via the Digital Twin

During the meeting, detailed assessments were conducted using maps on the digital twin of Bornova. Ongoing infrastructure works, existing deficiencies, planned investments, and the asphalting processes to follow these works were discussed comprehensively.

Goal: Fast solutions without causing inconvenience to citizens

It was emphasized that infrastructure and subsequent road works should be carried out in a way that prioritizes safety, avoids inconvenience to citizens, and does not disrupt traffic flow. A shared consensus was reached on strengthening inter-institutional communication, cooperation, and coordination.

Highlighting the importance of data-driven planning enabled by digital twin technology, Mayor Ömer Eşki stated:
“In Bornova, we manage all processes—from infrastructure to superstructure—based on scientific data. Our goal is to complete the work as quickly as possible, produce lasting solutions without disrupting urban life, and make Bornova more livable through strong inter-institutional coordination.”
