Asphalt and Concrete Works in Meriç Neighborhood

Bornova Municipality is making roads in Meriç Neighborhood more comfortable and safer after they were damaged during natural gas infrastructure works. A 300-meter section of 5717 Street has been completely renewed, and rapid repairs are planned at 23 other identified points in the neighborhood. Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that the municipality continues its work with a commitment to equal service in every neighborhood.

Bornova Municipality has extended its district-wide asphalt and concrete improvement efforts to Meriç Neighborhood. Roads damaged due to natural gas installation are undergoing comprehensive renewal to become modern and safe. In the first stage of the project, a 300-meter section of 5717 Street was fully renovated and reopened for public use.

Mayor Eşki: “Our goal is equal service on every street”

Speaking about the ongoing efforts, Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki said, “We set out with the principle of providing equal service to every neighborhood in Bornova. Roads are among the most frequently used public spaces, and making them comfortable, safe, and modern is a priority for us. We are addressing infrastructure-related damages with permanent solutions. The work we are doing in Meriç Neighborhood with our Deputy Mayor Duygu Bölük is part of this vision.”

23 problem points identified for immediate action

In addition to the ongoing renovation on 5711/5 Street, the Department of Public Works has identified 23 different damaged areas throughout the neighborhood. Municipal teams will act swiftly to repair potholes and ensure a safer transportation infrastructure for residents.
