The Number of City Markets in Bornova is Increasing

As Bornova Municipality, the City Market Project, which we have implemented to strengthen social justice and ensure that our citizens in need have access to basic needs in an honorable manner, continues to grow.

We have completed 7 of the 9 planned City Markets. Our markets, which were first opened in Doğanlar, started to provide service with Altındağ, Işıkkent, Serintepe, Yeşilçam, Naldöken and Çamdibi Atatürk Park branches. All points will be operational in a short time.

Fair and Transparent Support with the Card System

People in need determined as a result of social inspections conducted by the Bornova Municipality Social Aid Affairs Directorate can benefit from City Markets. With the credits loaded onto the cards every two months, our citizens can meet their basic needs such as food, cleaning, stationery, fuel and clothing.

Cash is not accepted in the markets; each individual receiving support can shop freely according to their own needs. The demands of our elderly and bedridden citizens are delivered to their homes.

Mayor Eşki: “No Bornova resident is alone”

Bornova Mayor Dr. Ömer Eşki said, “With the Kent Market project, we aim for no Bornova resident to go to bed hungry. We are strengthening social municipalism by institutionalizing solidarity. Moreover, we also offer healthy and local products produced by cooperatives in Bornova in our markets.”

Solidarity Living with the Names of Our Former Mayors

Bornova Municipal Council decided to name our Kent Market branches after mayors who pioneered social solidarity in the past. Each branch will continue to carry the traces of these valuable names.
