May 19th Youth Festival Kicks Off in Küçükpark

Bornova Municipality’s Youth Festival, specially organized for May 19th Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, began in Küçükpark Square with a concert by Grup Bournabat. The festival, which includes health screenings and sports activities for young people, will conclude on May 16th with a grand concert by the popular band Seksendört at Cumhuriyet Square. Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that Bornova will be a city where young people can exist freely and express themselves.

The Youth Festival, organized by Bornova Municipality to celebrate May 19th, started with great enthusiasm in Küçükpark Square. On the opening night, Grup Bournabat — made up of the municipality’s music instructors — gave the audience an unforgettable evening with their performance.

Health and Sports Go Hand in Hand

The festival offers not only music but also activities promoting a healthy lifestyle, which drew strong interest from young participants. At the “Healthy Youth, Healthy Future” stand in Küçükpark, blood sugar and blood pressure checks were conducted, and attendees received information about the HPV virus. In addition, seated exercises, pilates/aerobics, and zumba sessions were held with high participation. University students and residents from across Bornova joined the events with great enthusiasm.

Mayor Eşki: “Youth Is Our Hope”

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki stated that May 19th, a gift to youth from Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, would be celebrated with a festival full of youthful energy. “Bornova has always stood by its youth, because we know the future of this country will rise in their hands,” he said. “We are committed to making Bornova a place where young people can express themselves, create, and enjoy life freely.”

Concerts Continue for Four Days

The festival, taking place from May 13–16, promises music-filled days for young people. On Wednesday, May 14th, Grup İlyada will perform, followed by Grup Zoza on Thursday, May 15th.

The grand finale of the festival will take place on Friday, May 16th at 9:00 PM with a concert by Grup Seksendört at Bornova Cumhuriyet Square. A celebratory parade starting from Küçükpark before the concert will carry the spirit of the holiday throughout Bornova.
