Bornova’s Young Children Celebrate Domestic Goods Week with Enthusiasm

Domestic Goods Week was celebrated with colorful events at the Bornova Municipality Pınarbaşı Children’s Play and Activity Center. The young children wore regional costumes, shared food at a traditional floor table, and sang songs about domestic goods. Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized the importance of instilling awareness of local production and sharing from an early age.

Children aged 3–6 who benefit from the center wore clothing representing the regions where the foods they brought are produced, drawing attention to the importance of domestic production.

As part of the event, the children gathered around a floor table and shared the foods they brought from home. Singing songs themed around domestic goods, the children both had fun and learned the value of sharing and producing together. The event, which featured colorful scenes, attracted great interest from families and educators alike.

Mayor Eşki: “This Awareness Is Gained at an Early Age”

Stating that Domestic Goods Week is important for raising awareness at an early age, Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki said:
“The earlier we teach our children about local production, respect for labor, and sharing, the stronger a sense of social awareness we can build. This beautiful scene in Pınarbaşı gives us hope for the future.”
