BELGEM Turns Equal Access to Education into Collective Success

Bornova Municipality Youth Education Center (BELGEM) has achieved remarkable collective success by providing free educational support to students preparing for Türkiye’s university and high school entrance examinations. Thanks to BELGEM’s comprehensive academic programs, numerous students earned outstanding rankings in both the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) and the High School Entrance System (LGS). While students expressed their gratitude to Bornova Municipality, Mayor Ömer Eşki congratulated both the successful students and their teachers, emphasizing the municipality’s commitment to equal educational opportunities.

Operating under Bornova Municipality, BELGEM has become a model of educational excellence by offering high-quality, free-of-charge academic support. Students preparing for their future achieved impressive results in this year’s national examinations, making Bornova proud. According to the results, many BELGEM students ranked within Türkiye’s top 100,000 in YKS and the top 10% percentile in LGS, demonstrating the center’s broad and measurable impact.

Outstanding Results in YKS

BELGEM students achieved remarkable rankings across different score categories in the national university entrance examination:

• Tan Cem Zeybek ranked among the top 6,000 nationwide in the Verbal score category.
• Rüzgar Yıldırım (17) ranked within the top 10,000 in the Verbal category and the top 20,000 in the Foreign Language category.

Rüzgar shared his experience:

“I study at Cem Bakioğlu Anatolian High School. I have been a BELGEM student since the beginning of my education. BELGEM supported me greatly during both my LGS and YKS preparation. The practice exams and guidance from my teachers contributed significantly to my success. I ranked within the top 10,000 in the verbal category, the top 100,000 in TYT, and the top 20,000 in the foreign language category. I encourage everyone to study at BELGEM. My goal is to study Civil Aviation Transportation Management at İzmir University of Economics.”

• Fatih Kıyak (19) achieved a ranking within the top 32,000 nationwide in the Verbal category.

Fatih explained:

“I graduated from Mazhar Zorlu Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. This was my second attempt at YKS, and I prepared with BELGEM this year. As the exam approached, they provided additional study sessions. My teachers recognized my weak points even before I mentioned them and planned accordingly. We had practice exams every day during the final 20 days. The teachers are highly qualified and very supportive. The administration is also incredibly friendly and helpful. I scored 380 points and ranked 32,000th. The intensive practice exams made a huge difference. I highly recommend BELGEM.”

• Halit Efe Karabulut ranked within the top 59,000 nationwide in the Science category.
• Tamer Mercan placed within the top 78,000 in the Equal Weight category.

Outstanding LGS Performance

BELGEM students also achieved excellent results in the national high school entrance examination:

• İsmail Pirinççi (14) achieved an elite 1.17% national percentile.

İsmail said:

“I study at Şehitler Middle School. I scored 471 points in LGS and achieved a 1.17% percentile. During my preparation, I chose BELGEM and participated in its practice exams, where I earned awards for my performance. BELGEM helped me identify and improve my weaknesses through detailed exam analyses.”

• Mehmet Ali Hastürk achieved an outstanding 1.43% national percentile.

He shared:

“I study at Yavuz Sultan Selim Middle School. Although I was not enrolled as a BELGEM student, I regularly participated in BELGEM’s practice exams. I earned awards from our Mayor thanks to my performance. These exams helped me recognize my mistakes and improve them. I scored 467 points with a 1.43% percentile. My goal is to attend Bornova Anatolian High School. Even if you are not a BELGEM student, I strongly recommend taking their practice exams because they contribute greatly to your success.”
