As part of the project, uniform modern concrete sidewalks will be installed along the entire route, making pedestrian pathways significantly wider, safer, and more functional. Inspecting the works on site, Mayor Ömer Eşki stated that comfortable and aesthetically pleasing pedestrian areas worthy of Bornova residents would soon be opened to public use.

Bornova Municipality has stepped up its major sidewalk renewal project aimed at giving Mustafa Kemal Avenue, one of the district’s busiest and most heavily used routes, a modern appearance. The second phase of the renewal works along the route from the Bayraklı border to Bornova Cumhuriyet Square has officially begun. Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki, who inspected the works on site together with the technical team and department officials, announced that the project would transform the avenue with uniform, wider, and higher-standard sidewalks throughout.

A Continuous, Accessible and Aesthetic Pedestrian Route

As part of the project launched to create visual and functional consistency along Mustafa Kemal Avenue, modern concrete sidewalks are being installed throughout the entire route. Following the successful completion of the first phase, municipal teams quickly moved on to the second stage. With the investment, Bornova Municipality aims to maximize pedestrian comfort and safety while significantly improving pedestrian mobility in the area.

“We Are Providing Wider and More Functional Areas for Our Residents”

After receiving detailed information from the technical staff at the work site, Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki spoke about the project:

“As you know, we are continuing our work at full speed to install uniform, modern concrete sidewalks along Mustafa Kemal Avenue, from central Bornova to Bayraklı. We have now launched the second phase of this project, which we consider highly important. Our teams are working in full coordination on the ground, and we are accelerating the pace of the works. Very soon, we will make this important route, stretching from central Bornova to Bayraklı, available to all Bornova residents with a uniform sidewalk design. In this way, we will provide our residents with wider, much more functional and modern pedestrian areas.”
