Dangerous road temporarily secured

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki announced that the municipality had immediately intervened on a road in the Macera Park area of Atatürk Neighborhood, where dislodged paving stones posed a threat to traffic safety, despite the road not falling within the municipality’s area of responsibility. Inspecting the area on site, Mayor Eşki said, “The safety of Bornova residents comes before everything else for us. We have also taken action for a permanent solution.”

Complaints received, teams took action

After paving stones were dislodged along the road in the Macera Park area of Barbaros Avenue in Atatürk Neighborhood, creating a risk of accidents for vehicles, residents of Bornova raised concerns about the situation. Bornova Municipality teams immediately assessed the numerous complaints and reports they received and quickly arrived at the dangerous location, regardless of the boundaries of their area of responsibility.

Swift and safe measure from Rural Services

To prevent a possible accident and protect public safety, teams from the Bornova Municipality Directorate of Rural Services carried out a temporary localized intervention in the area. The intensive work, aimed at easing traffic flow and making the road surface suitable for vehicle traffic, provided significant relief to neighborhood residents.

Mayor Eşki: “We stand by our residents regardless of areas of responsibility”

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki inspected the problematic section and the ongoing work on site together with the relevant department heads. Emphasizing that the work was a temporary measure, Mayor Eşki said:

“We have received a great many complaints from this area over the past few days. Even though this road is not directly within our municipality’s area of responsibility, we could not stand by and watch as the removal of the paving stones endangered traffic and increased the risk of vehicle accidents. Our Directorate of Rural Services responded very quickly and implemented a temporary measure. However, this was only the first step; very soon, we will carry out a comprehensive and permanent project to resolve the problem in this area once and for all. In line with your requests, wherever the people of Bornova need us, we will continue to be there.”
