Bornova Municipality Shines at the 94th İzmir International Fair

 Bornova Municipality Shines at the 94th İzmir International Fair History, culture, sports, and health came together at the 140-square-meter mega stand

Bornova Municipality participated in the 94th İzmir International Fair with a 140-square-meter stand and organized events in many areas, from history and cultural heritage to health and sports. Visitors experienced Yeşilova Mound through 3D glasses, joined workshops and performances, and benefited from health services. Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that the İzmir Fair is one of the symbolic events of the Republic and thanked all participants.

Bornova Municipality took its place at the 94th İzmir International Fair, held between August 29 and September 9, with its 140-square-meter mega stand, attracting great interest. Located next to the Cascading Pool, the stand hosted events on Bornova’s history, cultural richness, health, and sports. National holidays were also remembered, with Turkish flags and balloons distributed on August 30 and September 9.

Bornova’s 8,500-year history showcased at the fair
Visitors were introduced to Bornova’s heritage, from Yeşilova Mound to Homer, and from the Levantines to the district’s “firsts.” Participants also had the chance to experience life from 8,500 years ago in Yeşilova using 3D glasses. In line with the fair’s “Culture and Economy” theme, the contributions of the Levantines to Bornova’s economy were highlighted, while the Golden Bracelet Employment Office desk received job applications for companies. At the mini golf course, symbolizing Bornova as the birthplace of golf in Anatolia, visitors enjoyed playing golf.

Workshops and shows for all ages
Workshops such as instrument making, bag making, ceramics, fossil painting, face painting, T-shirt painting, puppetry, mind games, and chess attracted significant interest from women, children, and adults. In addition, quiz competitions with surprise gifts, folk dances, dance performances, and music recitals added to the festive atmosphere.

Health services and special celebrations
The Bornova Municipality Health Affairs Directorate offered blood sugar and blood pressure checks at the stand. Dietitians and physiotherapists also provided guidance on healthy living. The August 30 Victory Day and September 9 İzmir Liberation Day were celebrated with special events at the stand, where Turkish flags were distributed to citizens.

Mayor Eşki: “The fair is one of the symbols of our Republic”
Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki met with citizens at the stand and visited other booths as well. Emphasizing the significance of the fair, he said:
“The İzmir Fair is one of the symbolic events of our Republic. Being here, spending time, and taking part in any activity means embracing the achievements of the Republic. We thank all participants who visited the fair and our stand.”
