120 Tents, Full Equipment, Secure Infrastructure

Bornova Municipality has opened its modern Livestock Market in Işıkkent for Eid al-Adha. Designed with the needs of both livestock sellers from across Turkey and local citizens in mind, the market prioritizes hygiene, safety, and comfort.

A total of 120 tents have been set up in the market—62 designated for cattle and 58 for small livestock. Each tent measures 112 square meters and is equipped with nearby water lines. To ensure the highest level of hygiene, portable toilet and shower containers have been installed at two different points on the premises.

Everything Considered for Citizens' Needs

In addition to a social tent offering cafeteria and dining services, a prayer area (masjid) has also been established for those wishing to perform religious duties. A quarantine tent is on standby for any potential health issues, and a veterinarian is also stationed on-site.

Cleanliness and Security as Top Priorities

The entire market area is equipped with perimeter lighting, and dedicated waste collection zones have been established for animal waste. These are regularly cleaned and transported off-site using loaders and trucks. Regular pest control and insecticide spraying are also carried out at set intervals.

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that Eid al-Adha is one of the most meaningful days for faith and community solidarity, stating:
