Mayor Eşki Pledges Full Support for Young Athletes

Bornova Municipality has launched a major investment initiative to provide children and young people with healthier, safer, and more modern sports facilities throughout the district. Declaring that "We are investing in the future of our youth," Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki announced that the municipality is comprehensively upgrading the district's sports infrastructure. Municipal teams are working simultaneously on both the construction of new facilities and the modernization of existing sports fields.

Doğanlar Sports Field Ready for a Brand-New Season

The Doğanlar Sports Field, an important venue for local amateur football clubs and athletes, is undergoing extensive renovation to meet modern standards. As part of the project, the playing surface is being completely renewed, while the locker rooms are being fully refurbished to improve athletes' comfort. The spectator stands are also being renovated to enhance the viewing experience, and all perimeter fencing is being replaced to improve safety. The municipality aims to complete the work before the start of the new sports season.

Neighborhood Sports Fields Undergoing Renovation

Bornova Municipality's sports initiative extends beyond major facilities. Neighborhood artificial turf fields across the district have also been included in a comprehensive maintenance and renovation program.

Renovation works have begun at the artificial turf fields in Yunus Emre Neighborhood and Yeşilçam Neighborhood, as well as at the sports field in Atatürk Neighborhood. The removal of worn-out playing surfaces is progressing rapidly, and modern resurfacing and reconstruction works will begin shortly.

Mayor Eşki: "We Will Make Bornova a Center of Sports"

Emphasizing the importance of providing children with quality sports facilities instead of leaving them to play in the streets, Mayor Ömer Eşki stated:

"Supporting sports and healthy living in every corner of Bornova is one of our highest priorities. We are doing everything necessary to ensure that our children and young people can play sports under better conditions, on modern fields, and without unnecessary injury risks. We will have the Doğanlar Sports Field fully ready for the new season. We are also renovating our neighborhood artificial turf fields one by one to place them at the service of our young people. With its sports infrastructure, Bornova will become one of İzmir's shining stars."
