Bornova Heritage Project: An innovative model integrating research, design, digitalization, and public access to highlight Bornova’s rich 8,500-year historical and cultural legacy, preserve urban memory, and pass this heritage on to future generations.

Project Partners and Participation: The project was carried out under the coordination of the Bornova Municipality’s Directorate of Libraries and Museums and the Directorate of Press, Publications, and Public Relations. Throughout the process, academics, researchers, cultural heritage experts, and municipal staff played active roles in content creation, fieldwork, and verification stages. Citizen access to cultural heritage was facilitated through digital platforms and kiosk applications, while the sense of belonging and awareness of preservation among city residents was strengthened.

Project Stages and Implementation Process:

1. Distinctive Corporate Identity: A unique corporate identity and logo were designed, drawing inspiration from the letter "B" in Bornova and the letter "M" in *Miras* (Heritage). A strong brand language was created by blending the architectural lines of Levantine mansions, the endemic Bornova Tulip, and the city's multi-layered past. **

2. Two-Dimensional Heritage Map: Key points representing Bornova’s cultural assets were identified, and a 2D Bornova Heritage Map illustrating the connections between them was prepared. This enabled visitors to explore the city via a holistic route.

3. Comprehensive Content & 25 Heritage Points: Original texts were created for 25 key heritage points based on academic publications, archival records, and field surveys. Historic mansions, archaeological sites, natural areas, and the city's social memory were converted into a digital inventory.

4. Digital Platform (Website): All prepared content, map data, and inventory information were migrated to a digital platform, enabling users to explore the city's heritage regardless of time or location.

5. Interactive Kiosk Network: Interactive digital kiosks were installed at designated museums and centers to enhance on-site visibility and citizen engagement: Ata Memorial House
Yeşilova Mound Visitor Center
Dramalılar Mansion Museum

6. Promotional Materials & Citywide Outreach: Awareness of the project and public access were maximized through the design and distribution of Bornova Heritage maps, thematic postcards, special stamp collections, and promotional materials.
