A Colorful Journey Through Time at Yeşilova Mound

At an event organized by Bornova Municipality at the Yeşilova Mound Visitor Center, children embarked on an enjoyable journey from the Stone Age to the present day. Through workshops, drama activities, and games, participants aged 7 to 12 experienced prehistoric life while both learning and having fun. At the end of the event, the children received “Time Travel” commemorative certificates.

The event, titled “In the Footsteps of Time: An Adventure-Filled Journey from the Stone Age to Today,” organized by Bornova Municipality, provided children with an unforgettable day. Held at the Yeşilova Mound Visitor Center, the program took children aged 7–12 on an entertaining and educational exploration reaching back 8,500 years into the past.

Learning and Fun Together

Throughout the day-long event, children enjoyed activities such as children’s yoga, Zumba Kids, and “journey through time”-themed games, while listening to stories from the past during the “Stone Age Tales Around the Fire” session. In the creative drama workshop, the children reenacted life in the Stone Age, combining entertainment with learning.

Enriched with surprise activities and gifts, the program aimed to increase children’s awareness of history and also attracted great interest from families.

An Unforgettable Experience Immersed in History

At the end of the event, participating children were presented with “Time Travel” themed commemorative certificates. With these special certificates, the children immortalized their historical journey at Yeşilova Höyüğü.

Officials from Bornova Municipality stated that such events, which enable children to learn by experiencing the past firsthand, will continue to expand in the future.
