Major Support for Citizens with Special Dietary Needs

Bornova Municipality has launched a special food package support program for residents with financial needs who have Celiac disease or PKU (Phenylketonuria). Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that they will never leave residents with special dietary needs alone.

Bornova Municipality continues to support residents with Celiac disease and PKU (Phenylketonuria) who have financial needs and require special dietary products. Applications have begun for the Food Package Support, prepared to help families living in the district who have difficulty accessing gluten-free foods and other special dietary products and to contribute to their household food expenses.

Mayor Eşki: “We Will Not Leave Any of Our Citizens Alone”

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized the importance of social municipal services in his assessment of the project. Mayor Eşki said:

“With our vision of Bornova as a pioneering city, our greatest priority is to improve the quality of life of every citizen living in our district. In particular, we will never leave our neighbors with Celiac disease or PKU who struggle to access gluten-free and special-protein foods due to their high cost. By defending the right to healthy and equitable nutrition, we will continue to address the needs of our residents through a spirit of solidarity in Bornova.”

What Documents Are Required for the Application?

Residents in need who live within the boundaries of Bornova and wish to benefit from these special food packages must provide the following documents when applying:

  • A photocopy of the applicant’s Turkish Republic ID card
  • A valid medical report for the person with Celiac disease or PKU

Applications Are Accepted In Person

Residents wishing to benefit from the support program can apply through in-person interviews conducted by the Bornova Municipality Directorate of Social Services. During the interview, a detailed application form is completed on behalf of the applicant and the process is initiated.
