The "City Twinning Project for Climate Adaptation between Bornova and Heidelberg Municipalities (Germany)" (BORNBERG Project), implemented within the scope of the Twinning Grant Program for a Green Future between Turkey and the EU-II, was carried out by Bornova Municipality for 12 months and has a total budget of €109,784.86. Bornova Municipality is providing 10% co-financing. Project partners include Heidelberg Municipality (Germany), Yaşar University (Turkey), and ENSIA (Energy Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association). The primary objective of the project is to increase Bornova's capacity to adapt to climate change and to develop sustainable urban planning practices through knowledge and experience sharing with Heidelberg Municipality.

• Main Project Outputs

o The infrastructure for a Local Climate Action Plan (SECAP) for Bornova has been developed.

o Policy preparation studies, roadmaps, and strategies have been developed.

o Public awareness and education activities on climate change have been conducted.

o Increased resilience of local businesses and reduced water and emissions footprint.
