An unforgettable night with heroic folk songs and a zeybek performance

The Bornova Municipality Turkish Classical Music Choir gave an unforgettable concert to the people of Bornova with Atatürk’s favorite songs and heroic folk songs. Citizens filled the Ayfer Feray Open-Air Theater, enthusiastically joining both the choir and the soloists.

Under the direction of Conductor Sami Büyüköztekir, the concert began with “Kırmızı Gülün Alı Var” and featured 20 pieces, from “Fikrimin İnce Gülü” to “Hoş Gelişler Ola”, from “Memleketim” to “Şimdi Uzaklardasın”. Both the choir and soloists won great admiration with their performances, while Bornovalılar sang along with passion.

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that Atatürk’s favorite songs and heroic folk pieces are part of the nation’s collective memory, saying:
