Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki attended the final day of the Atatürk Memorial Football Tournament, held in remembrance of the 87th anniversary of the passing of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. The young athletes of Bornova displayed great sportsmanship, and Mayor Eşki presented participation certificates to all players, saying, “In Atatürk’s footsteps, we will continue to support sports and our youth.”

Organized by the Bornova Municipality Sports Affairs Directorate between November 11–13, the tournament took place at Tatlı Mustafa Stadium. A total of 120 young athletes, born in 2015–2016 and 2017, competed from the clubs Çamdibi Gücü, Çamdibi Yavuz, Çamdibi İdman Yurdu, and Kandere Sports Club. At the end of the tournament, all clubs were declared winners—symbolizing that friendship was the true champion.

Highlighting that Bornova is one of the districts with the highest number of sports clubs in Türkiye, Mayor Eşki added:
“Football is a major culture and way of life for us. As the municipality, we are doing our best to support our clubs’ needs. We hope to organize this tournament under even better conditions next year.”
