An Unforgettable Valentine’s Day Concert by the Bornova Municipality Turkish Art Music Choir

The Bornova Municipality Turkish Art Music Choir met with residents of Bornova at the special Valentine’s Day concert titled “Songs of Love and Affection.” Conducted by Sami Büyüköztekir and performed in two parts, the concert featured unforgettable classics such as “Sevmekten Kim Usanır” (“Who Would Ever Tire of Loving”), “Seni Ne Çok Sevdiğimi” (“How Much I Love You”), and “Ben Seni Unutmak İçin Sevmedim” (“I Did Not Love You to Forget You”), drawing strong public interest. Mayor Ömer Eşki, who attended the concert, emphasized that Bornova will continue to foster art and love.

Formed by participants of Bornova Municipality’s Hobby and Skill Development Courses, the Turkish Art Music Choir performed its Valentine’s Day–themed “Songs of Love and Affection” concert at the Nedret Güvenç Stage, located within the Çamdibi Martyr Er Adem Bilaloğlu Social Facilities. The event attracted a large audience.

Protocol Members and Art Lovers United in the Same Emotion

In addition to Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki, the concert was attended by former Bornova Mayor Olgun Atila and Fatih Genel, District Governor of Şehzadeler in Manisa, who previously served as District Governor of Bornova. Enthusiasts of Turkish Art Music filled the hall and enthusiastically accompanied the choir’s performances.

Unforgettable Classics Echoed in Two Parts

Under the direction of conductor Sami Büyüköztekir, the choir performed distinguished works of Turkish Art Music centered on love and affection in two sections.

In the first part, pieces such as “Sevdi Gönlüm Ey Melek Sima,” “Sevdadır Şu Kalbe Dolan,” “Son Hıçkırık,” “Seni Ne Çok Sevdiğimi,” and “Çok Âşığın Var Diyorlar” stood out.

The second part featured “Gözlerin Bir Aşk Bilmecesi,” “Sevmekten Kim Usanır,” “Aşkımız Ne Güzeldi,” “Söyleyemedim,” “Sevda Öyle Müşkül Ki,” and concluded with “Gökten Yağmur Değil Sevgiler Yağsın,” all of which received enthusiastic applause from the audience.

Solo performances and duets further heightened the emotional intensity of the evening.
