A Standing Ovation for the November 10th Special Concert by Students and Instructors

The “November 10th Atatürk Commemoration Special Concert” organized by Bornova Municipality took place at the Nevzat Kavalar Cultural Center with great attendance. The event, performed by instructors and students from the Bornova Municipality Hobby and Skill Development Course Center, created an atmosphere filled with emotion.

The evening began with a moment of silence and the Turkish National Anthem. Vocalist Şafak Kıran was accompanied by Caner Araal on keyboard, Mehmet Kılıç on guitar, Celal Çardak on qanun, and Sergen Güdük on rhythm. The audience was deeply moved as the performers delivered heartfelt renditions of Atatürk’s favorite songs, earning great appreciation for both their vocal and instrumental performances.

Throughout the concert, beloved songs such as “Bülbülüm Altın Kafeste,” “Fikrimin İnce Gülü,” “Vardar Ovası,” “Yiğidim Aslanım,” “Eğilmez Başın Gibi,” “Çanakkale Türküsü,” “Manastır Türküsü,” “Atam Sen Rahat Uyu,” and “Parla” were performed. Young and talented students Deniz Asya, Yasin Emir Yılmaz, Ömer Faruk Uyruk, Ecem Melek Pınar, Eslina Özkan, and Arya Duru Demirbek accompanied these songs with their voices and instruments.

The hall was filled with enthusiastic Bornova residents who joined in the songs, marches, and folk tunes with great emotion. The night concluded with the entire audience singing “Parla,” creating a heartfelt and memorable finale.

Chess Tournament in Memory of Atatürk

Meanwhile, children receiving chess training at the Bornova Municipality Hobby and Skill Development Course Center gathered for the “Respect for Atatürk Chess Tournament.” The event saw strong participation, and players who ranked high were awarded medals for their success.
