A magical night with Zeki Müren songs

Bornova Municipality commemorated the “Sun of Art” Zeki Müren on the 29th anniversary of his passing with a concert held at Büyükpark Ayfer Feray Open-Air Theater. At the event, where TKM artists took the stage, Müren’s niece Özlem Güner shared her memories, while Mayor Ömer Eşki highlighted Zeki Müren’s contributions to Turkish art and culture. Eşki also announced that a branch of the Association for Supporting Contemporary Life (ÇYDD) will soon open in Bornova.

The special commemoration concert, titled “A Magical Night with Zeki Müren Songs”, attracted great interest. TKM artists performed under the direction of Conductor Turgay Kızıltuğ, with the choir presenting the beloved works of the legendary artist. The event was hosted by Coşkun Saygılı, with Fatih G. Tekin serving as general coordinator.

Emotional memories from Özlem Güner

Among the special guests was Zeki Müren’s niece, Özlem Güner, who shared touching memories of the unforgettable artist with the audience. She also announced, on behalf of Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki, that a scholarship donation had been made to the Association for Supporting Contemporary Life (ÇYDD), adding:
“Thank you for your efforts and sensitivity in keeping alive our secular and democratic Republic and in striving for a modern society in the light of Atatürk’s principles and reforms.”

Mayor Ömer Eşki: “No tribute is enough for Zeki Müren”

Joining the concert to honor the Sun of Art alongside Bornova residents, Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki said in his closing remarks:
“No matter what we do, it will never be enough to honor Zeki Müren. He was not only our Sun of Art, but also the embodiment of grace, kindness, gentlemanliness, and eloquent Turkish. He gave Turkey so much beauty beyond his songs. I thank everyone who contributed to organizing this concert and all Bornova residents who came here today.”

A new ÇYDD branch in Bornova

At the event, Mayor Eşki also shared an exciting announcement: a new branch of the Association for Supporting Contemporary Life (ÇYDD) will soon open in Bornova. He added:
“From here, we will collectively support the education of many young girls. I trust Bornova residents wholeheartedly in this matter.”
