A Powerful Season Opening at BBŞT Academy

“Forgetting” Premieres in Bornova

Bornova Municipality City Theatre premiered the striking play “Forgetting” by British writer Tristan Bernays at BBŞT Academy. With compelling performances by Kağan Uluca and Tilbe Taşlı, the production—centered on memory, love, and the search for identity—received great acclaim from the audience. Forgetting will continue to meet theatre lovers in Bornova throughout the season.

The award-winning play “Forgetting” by British playwright Tristan Bernays was staged for the first time in Bornova with its premiere at BBŞT Academy, which is named in memory of Zerrin Gençtürk, the former Deputy Mayor of Bornova Municipality who passed away in 2021. The emotionally intense production, exploring a person’s confrontation with themselves and their past, received strong applause on its opening night.


A gripping story of memory, love, and disappearance

Directed by Onur Erdoğan, the production stands out with its atmosphere and distinctive staging language. The poster, featuring two silhouettes facing one another, powerfully represents one of the play’s central themes: the conflict between memory and identity.
