Road, Sidewalk and Landscaping Drive in Kazım Dirik and Erzene

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki inspected the extensive road, sidewalk improvement and infrastructure works being carried out in the centrally located Kazım Dirik and Erzene neighborhoods. Emphasizing that they are responding rapidly to the needs of areas whose appearance has changed through urban transformation, Mayor Eşki said, “We are transforming former warehouse and factory sites into modern roads, parking areas and green spaces. In line with our residents’ expectations, we are making the center of Bornova more comfortable.”

Bornova Municipality continues its comprehensive infrastructure and streetscape improvement campaign in the central neighborhoods at full speed, aiming to provide residents with more comfortable, safe and aesthetically pleasing living spaces. Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki inspected the works on 296/1 Street in Kazım Dirik Neighborhood and 24th and 26th Streets in Erzene Neighborhood, together with municipal officials. During his inspection tour, Mayor Eşki also met with local residents and business owners to hear their requests and concerns.

Major Transformation from Industrial Sites to Modern Living Spaces

Speaking during his inspection on 296/1 Street in Kazım Dirik Neighborhood, where new buildings are rising and population density is increasing as a result of urban transformation projects, Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that the area has evolved from its former industrial character into a modern residential district.

Mayor Eşki said:

“In this area, which was previously used for factories and warehouses and has since undergone urban transformation with new buildings being constructed, we have begun rapidly addressing the resulting need for roads, parking and landscaping. We have completed the roadworks. Soon, we will mark the parking spaces in the areas that have recently been finalized and begin landscaping works. We will transform many locations, including the areas you see behind me, into green and landscaped spaces. Whatever needs to be done in line with the needs of the residents living here and the zoning plans, we will implement it one by one and make these improvements available to the people of Bornova.”

Operated the Asphalt Paver and Laid Asphalt

Mayor Eşki’s next stop was 24th and 26th Streets in Erzene Neighborhood, where urban transformation is particularly evident and new living spaces are taking shape. Eşki stated that they are also improving the roads and sidewalks surrounding the new buildings in Erzene, bringing them up to modern standards and giving them a more aesthetically pleasing appearance.

He noted that these works, which also include the complete asphalting of 36th Street, are helping renew Bornova’s central urban landscape.

Mayor Eşki personally climbed onto the asphalt paver and took part in the asphalt-laying operation. He also thanked municipal employees working devotedly during the hottest days of summer.

Full Marks from Residents and Local Businesses

During the inspection, Mayor Ömer Eşki spoke with residents and local business owners and explained the municipality’s projects in the area. Residents expressed their satisfaction with Bornova Municipality’s rapid response to the growing infrastructure and landscaping needs resulting from urban transformation, and thanked Mayor Eşki and his team for their extensive efforts.
