Barrier-Free Rhythms Touch Hearts in Bornova

Bornova Municipality organized a meaningful event at +1 Down Cafe, located in Bornova Büyükpark, as part of April 2 World Autism Awareness Day. Held under the slogan “Rhythm comes from the heart; it knows no language, barriers, or differences—it comes from the heart and reaches the heart,” the event created deeply emotional moments.

Individuals with Down syndrome and autism, who had received rhythm training for six months at the Bornova Municipality Hobby and Skills Development Center, took the stage to perform and dance, delivering an unforgettable experience for the audience. The event, attended by families as well, was filled with joy and enthusiasm.

Enthusiasm peaks with İzmir March and Erik Dalı

Participants created a vibrant atmosphere by keeping rhythm to the İzmir March and songs prepared for the 100th anniversary of the Republic. The most entertaining moments of the event came with the folk tune “Erik Dalı,” as participants enjoyed themselves to the fullest.

Mayor Ömer Eşki: “The strongest bond between hearts is love”

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized the importance of such events in raising social awareness. Eşki stated, “The best way to overcome barriers together is through art and love. What we see here today once again shows that the strongest bond between hearts is love.”
