Ömer Eşki Leads a 24/7 Field Mobilization Across Bornova

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki continues his uninterrupted field visits around the clock, seven days a week, to ensure that every neighborhood in the district receives the investments and services it deserves. Guided by the principle of resolving issues among residents rather than making decisions behind closed office doors, Mayor Eşki visits each neighborhood accompanied by relevant municipal officials and neighborhood headmen (muhtars), bringing the full municipal team into the field. By identifying investment needs on-site and personally listening to residents’ requests, suggestions, and complaints, Eşki is turning Bornova’s era of “collective decision-making” into a lasting reality through concrete action.

Bureaucracy Takes to the Streets, Solutions Come Immediately!

Breaking decisively with desk-based administration, Bornova Municipality is taking its place across the district, from outlying neighborhoods to the city center, with department heads and technical teams working directly in the field. Under Mayor Ömer Eşki’s approach to public service, the needs of every neighborhood are identified street by street, step by step. Urgent priorities are determined with the guidance of neighborhood headmen and addressed on the spot by the relevant officials, without getting bogged down in bureaucratic bottlenecks or lengthy correspondence.

A Mobilization of Investments and Services Based on “Collective Decision-Making”

Shaping every penny of the service and investment budget around residents’ priorities, Mayor Eşki meets with people in local coffeehouses, on the streets, and during visits to local businesses. From nighttime cleaning shifts to asphalt paving that begins at first light, this field-based approach is making Bornova a city that never stops working—and has earned strong approval from neighborhood residents. All investments, from road paving and lighting projects to social facilities and green spaces, are being implemented in line with the needs and consent of Bornova residents.

Mayor Eşki: “In Our Approach to Municipal Service, There Is No Day or Night”

Emphasizing the importance of collective decision-making and being present in the field, Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki said:

“In our approach to municipal service, decisions are not made behind office doors; they are made among the people of Bornova, right where they belong—in the streets. We are out in the field alongside all our department heads because we want to resolve the problems we identify immediately and on-site, without letting bureaucratic obstacles stand in the way. We will continue managing Bornova through collective decision-making, directly from the streets, day and night.”
