A Major Health Initiative for Young Children in Bornova

Comprehensive Health Education for Primary and Secondary School Students

Bornova Municipality has launched an educational program for primary and secondary school students on healthy eating, hygiene, oral and dental health, and basic first aid. The trainings, conducted by experts, are planned to take place in two different schools each month. Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that they are starting their awareness campaigns for healthy generations from the schools.

The Bornova Municipality Health Affairs Directorate has begun organizing health education programs for primary and secondary school students in Bornova. The program, implemented to help students gain awareness of healthy living and basic health issues, is held at each school for two days between 10:00 and 12:00. The trainings are planned to be held in two different schools each month.

Practical Training from Experts

The training program includes: Dietitian Elif Boztaş gave a presentation on “Healthy Nutrition,”

Physician Serpil Küçüker on “Hygiene,” Dentist Esra Özatay on “Oral and Dental Health,” Physiotherapist Burçin Çam on “Postural Disorders,” and Nurses Cemile Akdaş and Enurye Mutlu on “Basic First Aid.”

Following the presentations, the experts answered students' questions, creating an interactive learning environment.

Mayor Eşki: “We are starting from schools for healthy generations”

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized the importance of children acquiring correct health habits at an early age, saying, “Healthy nutrition, hygiene, and basic first aid knowledge become permanent throughout life when learned at a young age. In Bornova, we have launched a strong education campaign, starting from our schools, to raise healthy and conscious generations. We want our children to be well-equipped individuals in health, as in all other areas.”
