200 olive saplings planted in the soil

Bornova Municipality brought together students to plant 200 olive saplings in the agricultural area of Kayadibi as part of the November 26 World Olive Tree Day. Children were gifted the “Ecology Children” book set, and they enjoyed a joyful day in nature accompanied by poems and songs. Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that each sapling planted is a hope entrusted to Bornova’s future.

Bornova Municipality gathered kindergarten, primary, and secondary school students in the agricultural fields of Kayadibi for World Olive Tree Day on November 26. During this meaningful event, children planted 200 olive saplings in Bornova’s fertile soil, leaving behind a lasting legacy.

Strengthening environmental awareness with the “Ecology Children” set

To enhance environmental awareness, the “Ecology Children” book set was gifted to the participants. Students planted their saplings together with their teachers and municipal staff, enjoying educational and entertaining moments in nature. Through poems and songs they recited, they expressed their love for nature and transformed the area into a festive atmosphere.

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki highlighted that the event represents one of the most meaningful investments for the future:
“The olive tree is a symbol of peace, abundance, and longevity. Each sapling our children plant with their own hands is a seed of hope for Bornova’s tomorrow. Our goal is to raise a generation that loves nature and is sensitive to the environment. Today, we did more than plant 200 saplings—we collectively entrusted a responsibility to the future.”
