5 November 2026

Hot Soup for 2,000 People Every Weekday Morning

With the arrival of colder weather, Bornova Municipality is serving hot soup, bread and water to 2,000 people every weekday morning at metro stations. Stating that the initiative aims to support residents on their way to work and school with meals prepared at Kent Mutfak, Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that they will continue to strengthen the spirit of solidarity in Bornova and their approach to socially oriented municipal services amid challenging economic conditions.

As winter approaches and temperatures drop, Bornova Municipality continues to offer a warm start to the day for residents rushing to work and school in the early morning hours. As part of this socially oriented municipal initiative, hot soup is served every weekday at distribution points set up at the exits of EVKA-3, Bornova and Stadyum Metro Stations. The service, which begins at 7:00 a.m. and attracts considerable interest, reaches 2,000 residents of Bornova every day.

A Bridge of Flavor from Kent Mutfak to Metro Station Exits

Prepared under fully hygienic and healthy conditions at Kent Mutfak, operated by Bornova Municipality, the soups are delivered to the stations at first light. Students and working people looking for a warm start to the day are served fresh bread and water alongside nutritious soup. University students, in particular, as well as workers setting out early, have expressed great satisfaction with this service that welcomes them every morning.

Mayor Eşki: “The Warmth of Solidarity in Bornova Will Never Fade”

Stating that they consider it their duty to support residents facing economic hardship in every possible way, Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki said:

“We want to make even a small contribution to the budgets of students and working people who start their days early. Most importantly, we want them to feel that their municipality stands by them. Our soups, prepared with care and affection at Kent Mutfak, reflect Bornova’s spirit of solidarity on cold winter days. We will continue to expand our social projects to make life easier for our neighbors and bring smiles to their faces.”
