Mayor Eşki: “The Smiles of Our Mothers Are Our Greatest Motivation”

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki celebrated Mother’s Day with mothers across the district alongside his wife Beste Eşki. The couple first met with mothers at a breakfast gathering and later visited elderly mothers at a nursing home. During the events, mothers received gifts produced at the Bornova Municipality Waste Art Workshop, while special performances organized at the municipality’s Child Play and Activity Centers created emotional moments. Mayor Eşki emphasized that mothers are among society’s strongest values and stated that social projects for women and children would continue to expand.

As part of the Mother’s Day events, Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki met with mothers from across Bornova. Accompanied by his wife Beste Eşki, Eşki attended a breakfast program held at Yörük Obası on the İzmir–Manisa highway. He later visited the Pembe Köşk Huzur Evi in Atatürk Neighborhood to celebrate Mother’s Day with the elderly mothers residing there. Special events organized at Bornova Municipality’s child centers also created touching moments for mothers.

“The Efforts of Our Mothers Keep Society Standing”

Speaking with mothers during the breakfast gathering at Yörük Obası, Mayor Ömer Eşki stated that Mother’s Day is not only a celebration but also a very special day to remember sacrifice, love, and dedication.

“It is impossible to repay the devotion of our mothers, who stand by us at every moment of our lives and give us strength through their love. In Bornova, we will continue expanding social projects that make the lives of women and mothers easier. Because a city where mothers are happy is a city that looks to the future with confidence,” he said.

A Meaningful Visit to Mothers at the Nursing Home

As part of the Mother’s Day program, Mayor Ömer Eşki and Beste Eşki also visited the Pembe Köşk Huzur Evi in Atatürk Neighborhood and spent time with the elderly mothers living there. During the warm and sincere visit, mothers received special gifts produced at the Bornova Municipality Waste Art Workshop.

Mayor Eşki stated:

“We must always stand by the elders who brought us to where we are today. We should approach our mothers with love and respect not just one day a year, but every day. Their experiences and blessings are our most precious treasure.”

Emotional Surprises from Children to Their Mothers

Mother’s Day events organized at the Bornova Municipality Child Play and Activity Centers featured colorful and emotional moments. Dance performances, songs, and surprise activities prepared by children for their mothers deeply moved the audience. Mothers watched their children’s performances with both pride and joy.

Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that creating a city where children grow up with love is among their top priorities, stating:

“The happiness on our children’s faces and the light in our mothers’ eyes give us hope.”
