Bornova Municipality’s Nursery Dazzles with Its New Look

Bornova Municipality has completely renovated its nursery in Pınarbaşı, transforming it into a modern production center. Equipped with an automatic irrigation system, the facility now grows more than 30 varieties of colorful flowers. Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that flowers from this nursery will bloom in every street of Bornova.

The nursery operated by Bornova Municipality’s Parks and Gardens Department in Pınarbaşı has been entirely renewed. The area was expanded, its infrastructure reinforced, and it was outfitted with a modern automatic irrigation system. With increased production capacity and a dynamic workflow, the nursery—now resembling “a corner of paradise”—cultivates 30 different plant species known for their beauty and resilience.

Production Continues Non-Stop at the Modernized Nursery

Vibrant and fragrant species such as oleander, euonymus, snowball bush, yellow daisy, firethorn, boxwood, Mexican petunia, various types of geraniums, garden cress, Libyan grass, roses, olive shrubs, myrtle, lavender, Bodrum daisies, strelitzia, heavenly bamboo, lilies, lemon cypress, jacaranda, and bottlebrush are cultivated at the nursery and will soon adorn Bornova’s parks and gardens. Over the past year, 100,000 flowers and plant species have been planted. These flowers, prepared according to seasonal needs, will soon decorate Bornova’s green spaces, creating a stunning visual feast.

Commenting on the renewed nursery and ongoing efforts, Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki stated, “Our nursery in Pınarbaşı is not just a plant production site, but the heart of Bornova’s nature-integrated identity. Every flower grown here will beautify a corner of our district. Our goal is not only to green our parks but also to bring nature, color, and vibrancy to our streets, squares, and living spaces. We envision a city where every street in Bornova blooms and where people smile as they walk.”
