Yellow-Reds Set to Play Championship Match in Bornova

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki visited the Göztepe Men’s Basketball Team during their training session ahead of their crucial match in the Turkish Basketball Second League Final Group. The team, which is on the verge of promotion to the upper league, gained a morale boost from the visit.

Göztepe is set to face Ada Yem Uşak Basketball in a decisive match at Bornova Municipality Atatürk Sports Complex on Wednesday, May 15 (today) at 8:00 PM. Mayor Eşki visited the players before the game, offering them baklava and wishing them success.

Chatting with the team’s coaching staff and players, Mayor Eşki expressed his pride in hosting Göztepe in Bornova: “We will continue to support sports and athletes. I wholeheartedly wish Göztepe, a symbol of İzmir, great success on their path to championship,” he said.

Göztepe’s Head Coach Rüçhan Tamsöz and Basketball Branch President Atakan Atalar thanked Mayor Eşki for his continuous support throughout the season and for the encouraging visit.
