Festival Excitement Begins in Bornova with Grup İlyada

Bornova Municipality launched its 19 May Youth Festival at Küçükpark Square, one of İzmir’s liveliest gathering spots, with strong participation from young people. Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that Bornova will continue to be a city of youth and art.

The opening of the festival organized by Bornova Municipality featured a concert by Grup İlyada, formed by music instructors from the municipality’s Hobby and Skills Development Courses. Especially university students filled Küçükpark Square, one of İzmir’s busiest and most vibrant locations, enjoying an evening full of music and entertainment on the festival’s first night.

As alternative music echoed throughout the square, young people sang along together, making the festival a major attraction from its very first day. Reflecting Bornova’s youthful and dynamic identity, the event combined the spirit of May 19 with an atmosphere of music and solidarity.

Bornova Becomes the Stage for Young Talent

Throughout the festival, young music groups supported by Bornova Municipality, along with artists from Bornova and İzmir, will continue to perform. Concerts at Küçükpark Square will bring young audiences together with different styles of music each evening.

Mayor Eşki: “Bornova Will Continue to Be a City of Youth and Art”

Mayor Ömer Eşki stated that the festival is more than just a series of concerts and stressed the importance of creating opportunities for young people’s artistic production.

Eşki emphasized that Bornova will continue to be a center for youth, art, and free expression, adding that it is especially valuable for young musicians to have the opportunity to perform in their own city.

Five Days of Music and Solidarity at Küçükpark

The festival, which has drawn strong interest particularly from university students, is expected to attract large audiences for its alternative rock and electronic music performances. Throughout the May 19 celebrations, Küçükpark Square will serve as one of Bornova’s main gathering points for young people.
