A modern living space is born with Bornova Municipality’s special project

Bornova Municipality has completed infrastructure works on one of the district’s most distinctive areas, 159th Street, and is nearing the final stage of permanent improvements. With its blue-colored sidewalks and patterned asphalt, the street is drawing attention. Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki, together with CHP Deputy Chairman Gökan Zeybek, inspected the works on-site.

Mayor Eşki: “A project that will set an example for İzmir”

During the inspection, which was also attended by CHP İzmir Provincial Deputy Chairman Barış Özdemir and CHP Bornova District Chairman Ertürk Çapın, Mayor Eşki stated:
“The infrastructure here was ready. Now we’ve moved on to the implementation phase. Very soon, we will deliver a street that will not only set an example for Bornova but for all of İzmir. Our neighborhood residents are very pleased with this transformation.”

Gökan Zeybek: “This work reflects our vision of local governance”

CHP Deputy Chairman Gökan Zeybek emphasized that Bornova Municipality’s work has added value to the city’s aesthetics, saying:
“Projects like this, which reflect the vision of local governments, both improve quality of life and strengthen urban culture. I believe this initiative in Bornova will inspire many other parts of İzmir.”

6,000 m² transformation

As part of the special project, an area of 6,000 square meters spanning 400 meters from 162nd Street to Mustafa Kemal Avenue is being completely renewed. With colorful patterned asphalt and sidewalks, granite pavements, modern lighting systems, and new tree plantings, the street will gain an entirely new identity.

Süvari Avenue is next

Mayor Ömer Eşki announced that a similar renovation project will be carried out on Süvari Avenue, one of the district’s liveliest areas with its cafés and restaurants.
