Training for Health Affairs Department Staff

Bornova Municipality hosted an important training program in line with İzmir’s vision of “Equal İzmir” and “Healthy İzmir,” initiatives implemented across the province. As part of its “Women’s Empowerment” goals, the Women’s Health Seminar organized for staff of Bornova Municipality’s Health Affairs Directorate was successfully completed. The program aims to ensure that women have access to accurate information on essential health issues and develop preventive health practices.

Organized within the framework of İzmir’s local equality action plans, this special, one-time training program seeks to encourage women to replace risky health behaviors they may encounter in daily life with appropriate practices. The seminar, which brought together Health Affairs staff, aimed to raise health awareness among families, improve their quality of life, and strengthen their position in society.

Bornova Takes the First Step in an Initiative Set to Reach All 30 Districts of İzmir

The Women’s Health Seminar Program, planned to be rolled out across all 30 districts of İzmir, has now been implemented in Bornova. Staff working under Bornova Municipality’s Health Affairs Directorate gained valuable knowledge through the seminar, enhancing their understanding of preventive healthcare and equipping them to further improve their work throughout the district.

Mayor Eşki: “A Strong Society Is Possible Through Healthy and Informed Women”

Stating that they aim to expand preventive healthcare services throughout Bornova, Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki said:

“The health, rights, and quality of life of women, who are the cornerstone of society, are of utmost importance to us. Enhancing the knowledge and skills of our municipal healthcare staff through comprehensive training programs like this will give significant momentum to our awareness-raising efforts across the district. We will continue our determined efforts to bring preventive healthcare services to every corner of Bornova, empowering women to understand their own bodies and become aware of their health rights.”

A New Era of Preventive Women’s Healthcare Begins

One of the main objectives of the training program is to encourage women to make greater use of healthcare and public services and to voice their needs. With the guidance of the staff trained at the seminar, women will be supported in understanding their bodies better, becoming aware of their health rights, and benefiting from preventive healthcare services to the fullest extent.
