Young Innovators Gather at Büyükpark in Pursuit of Supernovas

Organized in collaboration with Bornova Municipality, TÜBİTAK, and Ege University, the "Bornova Science Hub: Supernovas in the Footsteps of Heritage" festival welcomed thousands of young participants to Büyükpark with 27 simultaneous workshops, telescope observations, and interactive science shows. Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized the municipality’s commitment to making Bornova a leading center for science and innovation while continuing to support the bright minds of the future.

The project concluded with a large-scale science festival held in Büyükpark, where science took center stage for three days. Thousands of children and young people explored future technologies through hands-on workshops, experiments, and educational activities.

Continuous Discovery Through 27 Simultaneous Workshops

Throughout the festival, 27 workshops designed for participants from preschool to high school operated simultaneously. Young innovators gained practical experience in a wide range of fields, including bioplastic production from starch, line-following robots, hydroponic agriculture, and solar energy systems, transforming classroom knowledge into real-world applications.

Experts Shared Insights into Future Technologies

The festival also featured science talks at the Ayfer Feray Open-Air Theatre, where academics and engineers delivered presentations on topics ranging from artificial intelligence and 3D printing to water management and the science of language processing in the human brain. As night fell, participants gathered around telescopes to explore the wonders of the night sky through guided astronomical observations.
