As part of the Employment-Guaranteed Pastry and Bakery Course organized by Bornova Municipality in collaboration with the İzmir Chamber of Confectioners and Bakers and the İzmir Soroptimist Club, a cake competition was held at the Evka-3 Culinary Workshop.

The jury panel featured İzmir Chamber of Confectioners and Bakers President İhsan Esen, İzmir Soroptimist Club President Beril İşçioğlu Özüner, Bornova Municipality Director of Cultural Affairs Yasin Barut, along with other experts in the field. The trainees reflected their imagination and newly acquired skills in their cake creations, which were judged based on presentation, taste, and technical proficiency.

In the competition, where 38 trainees competed in 8 teams, the "Ocean" and "Cake Fairies" teams shared first place, while "From Dough to Space" came in second and "Mermaid" took third.

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that such projects not only provide vocational skills but also offer young people a chance to connect with life. He stated, “Municipal work is no longer limited to building roads and sidewalks. We are working to touch the lives of young people and prepare them for the future. Through these courses, we are creating a skilled workforce and supporting the employment of women and youth.”

Job-Guaranteed Training Prepares Youth for the Profession
