The mansion is located at the entrance (Mahfel) of Fevzi Çakmak Street from Ankara Street. The mansion, which is the property of Ege University and has been used as a private cafe restaurant since 2025, was built by Giuseppe Pasquali, a merchant whose father had migrated from Chios to Izmir, between 1835 and 1840, according to the information provided by the Pasquali Family. After Giuseppe Pasquali, his son Giovanni Pasquali and his wife Giulia Pasquali (Barry) lived in the mansion. It is thought that the mansion is called Barry Mansion because members of Giulia's own family settled in the mansion after Giovanni Pasquali's death.

After Giovanni Pasquali's death in 1925, the building was left to his wife and three living children, Rene, Christine and Joseph, and was expropriated by the Treasury of the Republic of Turkey in 1941 for the use of Bornova Agricultural School.
The mansion lost one third of its garden due to the expansion works of Ankara asphalt road.
