Year-End Art Exhibition Opens in Bornova

The Year-End Art Exhibition, organized as part of the Bornova Municipality’s Department of Culture’s Hobby and Skill Development Courses, has opened its doors to art lovers at the Uğur Mumcu Culture and Arts Center Exhibition Hall. The exhibition brings together a wide array of impressive works created with dedication throughout the year by both children and adults.

Dreams Spilled from Brushes

Under the guidance of Art Course Instructor Hande Sezer, participants expressed their emotions, thoughts, and imagination on canvas using a variety of techniques during the 2024–2025 academic year—including pencil drawing, pastel, oil painting, acrylic, and watercolor. The exhibition features approximately 80 pieces, each offering not only artistic merit but also a powerful glimpse into the inner worlds of the artists.

The Power of Art that Touches Every Age

The Painting Workshop caters to a broad age range, from children to adults. In addition to classic canvas works, the exhibition also features unique t-shirt designs, capturing attention with their creativity. In this way, the exhibition highlights that art is not merely a technique but a way of life and a means of personal expression.

Mayor Ömer Eşki: “Art is a Part of Life in Bornova”

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that art is one of the most powerful ways individuals can express themselves, develop a sense of aesthetics, and strengthen their social ties:

“In Bornova, we see art not just as a domain for professionals but as a growing culture shaped by the participation of citizens of all ages. This exhibition is one of the finest examples of that. I sincerely congratulate all our course participants and instructors.”
