Bornova Municipality at the 94th International İzmir Fair

25 August 2025

A 140-Square-Meter Giant Stand Will Offer Visitors Memorable Experiences

Bornova Municipality will take its place at the 94th International İzmir Fair, held between August 29 – September 9, with a 140-square-meter giant stand located next to the Cascade Pool. The stand will feature a wide range of events, from the district’s history and cultural heritage to health and sports.

8,500 Years of History Experienced Through 3D Glasses
At the stand, visitors will explore Bornova’s historical heritage, from Yeşilova Mound to Homer, and from the Levantines to the district’s many “firsts.” With the help of 3D glasses, participants will have the chance to experience life as it was 8,500 years ago in Yeşilova.

Where Culture Meets Economy
In line with the fair’s theme of “Culture and Economy,” the stand will showcase the Levantines’ contributions to Bornova’s economy. At the “Altın Bilezik Employment Office” desk, job applications will be accepted on behalf of participating companies. Visitors will also be able to play golf at a mini-golf course symbolizing Bornova, the place where golf was first played in Anatolia.

Workshops, Contests, and Performances Throughout the Fair
Every day, workshops will be organized for women, children, and adults, including instrument making, bag crafting, ceramics, fossil painting, face painting, T-shirt painting, puppetry, mind games, and chess. The stand will also host surprise prize quizzes, folk dances, dance shows, and live music performances to enrich the festive spirit of the fair.

Health Services at the Bornova Stand
The Bornova Municipality Health Affairs Department will provide visitors with services such as blood sugar and blood pressure measurement. Dietitians and physiotherapists will also offer information on healthy living.

Victory Day and İzmir Liberation Celebrations at the Fair
Special events will mark August 30 Victory Day and September 9 İzmir Liberation Day at the Bornova stand, where Turkish flags will be distributed to visitors.

Mayor Eşki: “We Are Bringing All of Bornova’s Richness to the Fair”
Highlighting the importance of the fair, Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki said:
“The İzmir Fair is a great opportunity to promote both our city and Bornova. This year, at our stand, we will showcase all of Bornova’s richness—from history and culture to economy and social services. We will represent Bornova in the best possible way at the very heart of İzmir.”
