722 Potholes Repaired in 90 Days

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki inspected ongoing road maintenance works in Evka-3 Neighborhood and announced that 722 potholes had been repaired over the past three months. Stating that there are approximately 5,000 potholes across the district, Eşki noted that work slowed due to rainfall but will accelerate during the summer months. The goal is to repair the majority of potholes by the end of the year.

Bornova Municipality continues its road construction, maintenance, and repair works across the district without interruption. As part of these efforts, Mayor Ömer Eşki visited 119/10 Street in Evka-3 Neighborhood to examine asphalt patching works on site and received information from the teams.

722 interventions in 90 days

Providing details about the work carried out in the field, Mayor Eşki stated that significant progress had been made in the past three months:
“Dear residents of Bornova, good morning. Our teams are carrying out asphalt patching works in Evka-3 Neighborhood. In the past three months, we have intervened in a total of 722 potholes—250 with interlocking paving repairs and 472 with asphalt patching.”

Target: Largely complete by year-end

Noting that there are around 5,000 potholes across Bornova, Eşki said that weather conditions occasionally delayed the work:
“We know that there are approximately 5,000 potholes in Bornova. In the past 90 days, nearly half of that period—around 40 to 45 days—was affected by rain. Therefore, we were unable to complete the patching process.”

Intensive work throughout the summer

Emphasizing that work will accelerate as rainfall decreases, Eşki added:
“The rainy season is gradually coming to an end, and we are entering summer. Our goal is to complete a large portion of the existing potholes by the end of the year. We will dedicate most of the upcoming summer to this work.”

“We will provide more comfortable roads”

Stating that their aim is to provide safer and more comfortable transportation, Eşki said:
“We will complete the pothole and patching works in Bornova and deliver cleaner, more accessible, and more comfortable roads and streets to our citizens.”
