Additional Credit Support for Kent Market Cards

Bornova Municipality provided support ahead of the New Year by loading an additional 100 credits onto the Kent Market cards of 3,500 families, to be used in December. Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that this practice is an important social support model that strengthens solidarity in Bornova.

Economic relief for 3,500 families

As part of its social support efforts, Bornova Municipality loaded an additional 100 credits as a New Year’s gift onto the cards of 3,500 families benefiting from Kent Markets, to be used in December. The 7 Kent Markets operating in the district provide support to citizens identified as in need through social assessments conducted by the Bornova Municipality Directorate of Social Assistance.

Depending on their economic situation, beneficiaries receive 100, 110, or 120 credits loaded onto their cards each month, which they can use to meet basic needs such as food, cleaning supplies, stationery, fuel, and clothing. The needs of elderly and bedridden citizens are delivered directly to their homes by municipal teams.

Mayor Eşki: “No one in Bornova is alone or without support”

Stressing that the primary goal of social support policies is to strengthen solidarity, Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki said:
“Our Kent Market program is an important social solidarity model that enables our neighbors in need to shop with dignity. By loading additional credits onto the cards of 3,500 families before the New Year, we wanted to help them breathe economically and boost their morale. In Bornova, no one is alone or without support; we will continue to strengthen solidarity.”
