The Basics of Vegetable Cultivation Explained Through Scientific Methods

Bornova Municipality continues its training programs aimed at raising awareness among both producers and consumers without interruption. The “Vegetable Cultivation Training” organized by the Agricultural Services Directorate was held at the Nevzat Kavalar Cultural Center Assembly Hall with high participation.

During the training led by Agricultural Engineer Anıl Ayvaz, all the essential stages of vegetable production were covered in detail. Topics included initial processes such as soil preparation, seed sowing, seedling production, and planting methods, as well as key aspects of practical agriculture like irrigation, fertilization, soil management, and pest and disease control.

A Roadmap from Theory to Practice

The training went beyond technical information; participants were also guided on how to apply what they learned to their own production processes. Solutions to common problems encountered under various production conditions were offered, aiming to equip participants with the tools to face potential challenges in the field.

Mayor Eşki: “Agricultural Education is the Foundation of Sustainable Living”

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized the importance of agricultural education, stating:
“In Bornova, we support not just production but conscious production. Through these trainings, we empower small-scale producers and help create an informed consumer profile that ensures urban residents have access to healthy food. Our efforts will continue to promote knowledge-based agricultural practices.”
