Free Service for One Day at Urban Restaurants in Memory of Gülşah Durbay

Bornova Municipality’s urban restaurants provided free service for one day in memory of Şehzadeler Mayor Gülşah Durbay. Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki met with citizens at the Çamdibi Urban Restaurant, served meals, and joined in prayers for Gülşah Durbay. The event turned into a meaningful gathering that strengthened feelings of social solidarity and remembrance.

The Çamdibi, Kızılay, and Mevlana Urban Restaurants—opened by Bornova Municipality to strengthen social solidarity and provide affordable, healthy meals for low-income citizens—hosted this meaningful act of unity. The urban restaurants offered free service throughout the day in memory of Gülşah Durbay, Manisa’s first female mayor and the Mayor of Şehzadeler, who passed away at a young age.

Mayor Eşki Shares the Same Table with Citizens

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki came together with citizens at the Çamdibi Urban Restaurant. Wearing gloves and a hairnet, Mayor Eşki served meals and joined citizens in prayer during the event held in memory of Gülşah Durbay.

Mayor Eşki stated, “We lost her far too early. Mayor Gülşah was not only a successful mayor but also a very valuable and special person. We will never forget the struggle she carried out for the people, for women, and for her city.” Eşki emphasized that Urban Restaurants will continue to be not only places where meals are served, but also spaces where sharing, solidarity, and collective memory are kept alive.
